Licensing
All Lane Towne Car &limo Chauffeurs are required to have a clean driver's license: NO WARRANTS, NO ACCIDENTS &NO TICKETS. A "No warrants" condition is a standard for the Houston Limousine License and the Houston Taxi license and Houston is the only local community requiring a City license of any kind. A five year background check, a physical and drug test are also required for the Houston Limousine License and the Houston Taxi license. In addition to these requirements, we require our Chauffeurs to get a IAH TSA Security Badge, and a Hobby TSA Security Badge, which is obtained only after a favorable Homeland Security Historical Background Check. In addition to the above requirements: Before we hire anyone we require our chauffeurs to have no traffic violations and no accidents on their driving record in the past 2 years.
Knowledge
Lane Towne Car &Limo Chauffeurs must have a thorough knowledge of the local and surrounding area roads and be skilled map readers. Your Chauffeur is tasked to arrive at your address at least ten minutes before the scheduled time to assure not only an on time arrival but also to let you relax in the knowledge that they are there, outside waiting. Your Chauffeur will call the Lane Towne Car &Limo main office when they pick you up and after they have delivered you to your destination. To avoid unexpected traffic situations, the dispatcher and Chauffer are in constant contact and are regularly checking flight updates.
Age Requirements for a Chauffeur
To operate a taxi or limousine in Texas, the driver only has to be 18 years of age. I'm sure you remember how you drove just two years after receiving your drivers license. Lane Towne Car &Limousine believes it is important for their drivers to have more driving experience, not only for our clients comfort but their safety also. All our drivers must be at least 25 years old.
Training
Although it is not required by the State of Texas, all Lane Towne Car &Limo Chauffeurs must complete a defensive driving course, pass a National Limousine Association training course, and then ride with one of our seasoned professional Chauffeurs.
Safety
Most Taxi &Limousine services in Texas operate their vehicles according to the standards established by the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT). The City of Houston requires the standard yearly TXDOT inspection plus one city inspection in December. Lane Towne Car &Limo requires continual vehicle inspection by the chauffeurs and our mechanic to make sure we are providing optimum service.
Here at Lane Towne Car &Limousine, we care about the safety and well-being of our clients. We have $750K worth of bodily injury liability projection for the client riding in our vehicle, while most other limousine companies only provide the legally required $250K and Taxi's only have the legally required $20K.

On-time Guaranteed Arrival
Your time is just as important to us as it is to you. When you arrange a time to be picked up, we respect and honor that request. If you choose to travel to your destination via taxi or limousine in the state of Texas, there are no legal requirements for the vehicle to be on time. If we are scheduled to meet you at the airport, we continually monitor your flight to make sure we are there according to the airlines most updated information. Being on time is common courtesy, and we offer no less. Lane Towne Car &Limo's on time guaranteed service is backed by our internal procedures and a relationship with trusted affiliates. If we fail to arrive on time and are 15 minutes late, the ride is on us.
